GENERAL RESTRICTIONS FOR FUEL TANKER DRIVERS

This Release lists the general restriction that fuel tanker drivers must comply with by our drivers for the safety of our customers and the general public. Our Fleet Management department continuously strives to educate and enlighten our truck drivers on the need to comply with this Procedure for which this public notification is made available.

IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN FOR OUR DRIVERS:

  • To smoke on board or near the vehicles, whether they are full or empty
  • To carry animals in the cabin or in the vehicle
  • To carry passenger who do not belong to the company in the vehicle
  • To carry excess passengers
  • To take on board goods or empty packages which do not correspond to the deliveries to be made
  • To entrust or allow a third party to drive the truck (except in the event of accidental physical incapacity or avoiding a potentially dangerous situation)
  • To carry out unauthorised electrical connections
  • To use mobile phone in the depot and service stations. Mobile phones must be switched off and left on stand-by
  • To use mobile phones when driving
  • To cook or use naked flame under the vehicle whether loaded or empty
  • To do any welding works on the tank before degassing the tank
  • To load domestic kerosene and premium motor spirit in the same truck
  • To load/offload in a storm
  • To load /offload without grounding the fuel tanker
  • To leave the truck unattended to while in the depot, on road or station
  • To use non-armoured hose for offloading the product
  • To leave truck doors and windows open during loading in the gantry.
  • To drive without flame arrester in the depot
